Back in August 2024, our client was dismissed from employment after the employer unilaterally terminated the employment agreement concluded with the employee based on Article 113(1)(2) of the Labour Code of the Republic of Armenia.

Considering that the employer violated the employee’s labour rights during the termination process, the lawyers of LSA Law Firm filed a claim before the court seeking protection of our client’s rights and financial compensation requirements /see Civil Case No. ԵԴ2/8589/02/24 on the https://datalex.am:443/?app=AppCaseSearch&case_id=49258120924423546 information platform/.

By the decision of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan dated 30 June 2025 (Judge T. Stepanyan), the Court recognized the fact of violation of our client’s rights and ordered the employer to pay:

  • AMD 2,371,328 as compensation for unused annual leave days;
  • AMD 976,429 as severance pay;
  • AMD 2,836,256 as a penalty.

The Court also established additional penalty payments for each day of delay until the employer fully fulfills its obligations.

The mentioned court decision was appealed by the employer, including before the Cassation Court of the Republic of Armenia. However, the cassation appeal was not admitted for review, and therefore the court decision dated 30 June 2025 entered into legal force.

Thus, based on the legally effective court judgment, our client will receive more than AMD 10,000,000 from the former employer, including accrued penalties.

This case once again demonstrates the importance of professional employee rights protection, effective handling of employment disputes, and the proper legal strategy required to restore violated rights and obtain compensation provided by law.
