Within the criminal proceedings initiated in connection with cases of abuse of official powers and transfer of official powers by officials of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, our client, the head of the department of the said Ministry, A.KH. the investigator’s request for consideration of the case by the court was not satisfied. The investigator’s petition for the election of arrest as a preventive measure against A.KH. 01.02.2024, the Court rejected. A preventive measure in the form of house arrest has been chosen against the accused. Although with difficulty, but thanks to the principled judges (Judge Suren Khachaturian) It is possible to confirm in judicial practice the statement that the preventive measure in the form of detention is an extreme measure of procedural coercion and can be applied only in the absence of alternative preventive measures.
