On June 12, 2025, the main hearings concluded at the Court of General Jurisdiction of First Instance of Yerevan in the criminal case involving A.A., a client represented by criminal defense attorney Andranik Mnatsakanyan. The defendant was charged under Articles 46-399(3)(2) and 44-393(3)(2) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia with particularly serious offenses, namely aiding the smuggling of narcotic drugs in especially large quantities and attempting to acquire narcotic drugs in especially large quantities for the purpose of distribution. Each offense carries a penalty of 6 to 12 years of imprisonment.
As a result of a carefully selected defense strategy, numerous procedural actions undertaken during the criminal proceedings to protect the defendant’s rights and interests, and the legal arguments presented by the defense, as well as the court’s objective approach, an acquittal verdict was rendered in favor of A.A., declaring and affirming his innocence with respect to all charges.
The judicial decision issued in this criminal case concerned allegations related to drug smuggling and illegal drug trafficking. The court confirmed the validity of the defense position and the legal arguments presented on behalf of the defendant.
