Within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated by the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, G.H., a client represented by attorneys Andranik Mnatsakanyan and Edgar Ayvazyan of our law office, was charged with an offence under Part 1 of Article 335 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, namely the illegal acquisition and possession of a firearm and ammunition.
A motion was also filed with the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Kotayk Region seeking the application of detention as a preventive measure against him.
As a result of the properly selected defence strategy, as well as the objective approach demonstrated by the court, the investigator’s motion to apply detention as a preventive measure was dismissed. Instead, a combination of alternative preventive measures was applied to G.H., namely house arrest and a prohibition on leaving.
